No more encyclopedia?

Well not really. But, Encyclopedia Britannica will no longer be published as a set of books -  it will just remain online. Check out the CNN Article.

In a way its sad, but at the same time, I see sets of these books from the 1980's still sitting in Philadelphia school libraries - and they are useless.

Britannica couldn't keep up with new information when they only printed sets every 2 years. And school libraries definitely couldn't afford to pay the huge price to buy the new sets every two years (upwards of $1,000 for one set), and thus why Rowen Elementary library's most recent set is from 1986.

So in a way, its good news. For everybody.
